    Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Security Specialist supporting an Intelligence Community Customer. The right candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.


    • Program Protection is the comprehensive integration of all security disciplines in a manner that mitigates and manages risks associated with research, development, acquisition, prototype, testing, and delivery of critical technologies and their associated mission functionalities. Program Protection must be considered for all NGA projects, studies, and programs, but is required for all classified efforts.  The purpose of Program Protection is to help programs ensure they adequately protect technology, components, and information which could allow the adversary to clone, counter, or defeat US warfighting capability. Ensure that sound classification management practices are implemented and applied to support the SIS’s mission.
    • Administer/provide security classification guidance and perform document and classification reviews.
    • Provide effective system-level security support associated with mission planning activities, including ground site support and operations
    • Support threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments and assist with the development of mitigation plans that reduce or remediate adverse finding.
    • Maintain and update program security files and associated databases.
    • Provide personnel security support to program sponsored individuals, to include receiving, documenting, and forwarding as appropriate reportable personal security information.
    • Liaise with the SI divisions (e.g., Counterintelligence Division (SIC), Personnel Security Division (SISP), Security Operations Division, (SISO) to facilitate analysis and support for program activities
    • Assist the Government in the development and execution of vulnerability and risk assessments and mitigations
    • Assist the Government with the establishment and implementation of continuity of operations planning (COOP) activities.
    • Visit industrial facilities (as appropriate), assess the security program effectiveness and SCIF efficacy in protecting NGA information, and document visits and trip reports as directed by the Government security manager;
    • Provide daily support to the customer on the proper handling, dispatching, couriering, and marking of classified and unclassified documents in accordance with referenced executive orders, directives, and instructions;
    • Support the resolution of access and clearance issues that require checking various NGA and Community databases, as well as updating and ensuring the accuracy of various government security databases.
    • Administer/provide security classification guidance and perform document and classification reviews.
    • Assist in the development of security policies and implementation procedures;
    • Participate in technical design reviews, working groups, and other groups as needed to support the security mission.
    • Write, review, and/or evaluate security proposals and plans (e.g., Operational Security (OPSEC) Plans, Program Protection Plans, Classification Guides, DD 254’s, Contract Data Classification Worksheets, etc.) focusing on safety and security of personnel, assets, resources, and mission.
    • Support security briefings, SCI indoctrinations and debriefings, and personnel in-processing and out-processing transactions.
    • Respond promptly to customer service needs and requirements for program security support.
    • Provide security incident response support to include preliminary investigation, appropriate notification(s), accurate documentation, and timely resolution;
    • Monitor the implementation of Government security requirements for Government and Industry facilities accreditation and information systems certification and accreditation.
    • Coordinate security issues, when appropriate, with internal and external mission partner organizations.
    • Develop program specific security education material and information.
    • Develop and execute protection strategies for existing programs, developing programs, or new concepts.
    • Provide support to staff elements for foreign disclosure guidance on the proper procedures and requirements for the release of US classified information to foreign mission partners.
    • Support the process for the National Disclosure Policy (NDP) for field and staff elements.
    • Organize work so that taskings, projects, and assignments are completed in a timely manner and according to deadlines
    • Provide day-to-day security advice and guidance to government and contractors concerning personnel, physical, operational, technical, information, industrial, counterintelligence, and computer security issues.
    • Demonstrated innovation and efficiency in areas of security support.


    Clearance Required: TS/SCI

    Degree and Years of Experience: Associate’s degree or equivalent plus a minimum of  11 years’ experience, of which  5 or more years’ experience has been in the intelligence community.
