    Responsibilities

    • Review permanent records 25 years old or older and determine declassification recommendation or exemption eligibility in accordance with NGA Declassification Guide.
      • Perform surveys/inspection of records and identify NGA equities.
      • Index records as directed by the Declassification Project/Program Manager.
      • Review NGA records for declassification on a “ pass/fail” basis in accordance with the NGA Records Declassification Guide.
    • Recommend the appropriate records for declassification in accordance with the NGA Declassification Guide, and return reviewed records to the original order following review.
    •  Provide Project/Program Manager an accounting of records reviewed for input to
      monthly metrics report.
    • Contribute updates to the NGA Declassification Guide annually, allowing NGA to conduct review activities necessary to declassify the maximum amount of information with the minimum amount of risk to national security.
    • Review all pertinent documents, regulations and issuances provided by the Government as part of the research required to update the NGA Declassification Guide.
    •  At the Government’s discretion, obtain pertinent documents and regulations from other Government and IC agencies identified by the Declassification Project/Program Manager.
    • Review pertinent documents, regulations and issuances provide by the Government as part of the research required to update the Automatic Declassification Program CONOPS.
    • Maintain and update the (customized) Automatic Records Declassification Database Management System.
    • Track inventory of records storage boxes; retain indexing information on records storage boxes and record review production data.
    • Report production and download data and reports to the main declassification database maintained at NCE.
    • Maintain user training and documentation for the system and conduct training as required.
    • Develop and deliver appropriate training to enable reviewers to identify NGA equities that fall into one or more of the nine exemptions specified in EO 13526. Some equity identification training may be available from the External Referral Working Group
      (ERWG).
    • Use the tab and notify method of equity referral; when equities from other agencies are identified, they must be tabbed for referral to the respective agency; subsequently, notify the agency of equity issues.
    • Attend/participate in all appropriate meetings and discussions as directed by the Automatic Declassification Project/Program Manager relating to records declassification review and exemption.
    • Represent NGA Declassification Program at External Referral Working Groups (ERWG) meetings, and participate in the review of other agency equities.

    Qualifications

    Clearance Required: TS/SCI

    Degree and Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of experience in the declassifciation review of Federal records.

     

    Required Skills:

    • Demonstrated experience in handling and reviewing Airborne imagery, satellite imagery, and or Geospatial products in IC, DoD or Federal Government.
