    Responsibilities

    • The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has a need for Functional Specialist/Advisor support to assist in the execution of the Foundation GEOINT NSG Operations Executive (FG NOX) customer engagement activities. The FG NOX hosts quarterly customer engagement sessions and interacts with the NGA customer base on a daily basis in between the quarterly sessions.
    • The Functional Specialist/Advisor support would facilitate these customer engagement activities by coordinating all of the briefings, discussion panels, and logistical requirements for the quarterly sessions as well as working with the customers on a daily basis to resolve issues as they arise.
    • The work includes understanding operational requirements from external customers, assessing the current state of data readiness across topographic, maritime, geomatics, and aeronautical mission spaces, coordinating with commercial, national, and airborne collection managers to create the source necessary to support production requirements, and coordinating with the NGA production offices to schedule the required production.
    • The Functional Specialist/Advisor support will also prepare briefings and read- ahead packages to facilitate situational awareness of production activities by NGA senior leadership.
    • The Functional Specialist/Advisor support will assist in the development of mission readiness assessments for the Department of Defense readiness assessment programs as well as the assessment programs from the Office of Director of National Intelligence.
    • Other duties include:
    • Participate in SF and Foundation Geoint forums to support the SF staff insuccessful accomplishment of SF responsibilities.
    • Provide periodic support to the GEOINT Data Architecture and Management (GDAM) Strategic Initiative Business Plan.
    • Assess and facilitate making NGA GEOINT content discoverable and accessible.
    • Provide support to the SF staff for operational planning and integration support. 
    • Support and interact with SF Offices, NGA, and NSG mission partners toaccomplish the SF’s mission and vision.
    • Support the SF staff to coordinate and produce a variety of planning andintegration documents and activities.
    • Assist with development and implementation of best practices, processesand procedures.
    • Support the definition and development of performance metrics, and assist with metrics analysis.
    • Support the SF staff in the development and review of a variety of SF documentation, ensuring consistency with other hierarchal documents such as the NIPF, Strategic Planning Guidance, IC directives, DoD directives, and NSG policy guidance.
    • Recommend and coordinate SF staff actions necessary to accomplish the mission. 
    • Under the guidance of Government, acts as the interface between NGA and NSG customers and source providers. The Functional Specialist/Advisor shall demonstrate proficiency with Geospatial-Intelligence sources and methods, andsystems/tools.

    Qualifications

    Clearance Required: TS/SCI

     

    Degree and Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 7-10 years of experience. 

     

    Required Skills:

    • Demonstrated experience with Intelligence Community data and producttypes, missions and functions to include geospatial requirements process and production.
    • Demonstrated experience in utilizing standard business application software for presentations, word processing, and especially spreadsheets to be able to inter-relateand effectively present geospatial data metrics. 
    • Demonstrated experience in building complex formulas within Microsoft Excelto extract data from large spreadsheets.
    • Demonstrated experience of ESRI ArcMap and GIS Tools to be able to extractdata and inter-relate this data to other metrics and sources. 

    Desired Skills:

    • Demonstrated experience in verbal and written communication and coordinationskills to effectively work with individuals at all levels.
    • Demonstrated experience with Geospatial-Intelligence sources and methods,and systems/tools.
