    Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a System Administrator supporting an Intelligence Community Customer. 


    The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.


    • We are looking for a System Administrator, in Alexandria, VA, to provide security operations support for mission critical systems.
    • This individual will be responsible for the system administration and maintenance of various computer security systems to support monitoring of a secure network to include Linux, UNIX and Windows based systems. 
    • Responsible for installing and maintaining systems, comprised of Linux, UNIX, and Windows operating systems, in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements in support of baseline requirements
    • Provides operational support for mission critical systems to include security applications, security monitoring tools, security servers, and database administration
    • Performs operational monitoring and auditing of security monitoring tools such as host-based security systems, intrusion detection systems, firewall management systems, and security scanning applications
    • Performs system back-ups, and restores systems from back-ups of monitoring tools and databases
    • Be able to generate or maintain moderately complex scripts using Shell and/or PERL tools
    • Monitors network using a variety of monitoring tools to administer alerts, responds to instances, and review system logs
    • Interacts with customers with help desk support and with writing service tickets and briefing materials
    • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance of servers, applications, and databases.


    Clearance Required: TS/SCI


    Degree and Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology/Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience (or similar technical field) plus two years relevant professional experience in administration of information technology security based systems


    Required Certifications:

    •  DoD 8570.1M certified DoD 8570 IAT or IAM Level 2 compliant professional certification such as SCCP or Security +

    Required Skills:

    •  Experience using security tools such as SPLUNK, Nessus/ACAS, STIGs, McAfee, HP WebInspect, Solarwinds Event Manager, and Solarwinds patching tool

    Desired Skills: 

    • Knowledge of computer security topics such as digital forensics, incident response, application security and malware analysis
    • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services  (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP)
    • Previous experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer
    • Experience with application of DoD IAVAs, DISA STIGs, and NIST security controls
    • Experience in: Shell, PERL, and/or Python, system administration and configuration experience in Linux and UNIX, and managing Windows Server 2008/2012 with Active Directory domain (AD, DNS, GPO).
    • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
