Overview

Abile Group is looking for a well-rounded Free-Lance/PT Software Engineer with strong experience in AMX conference room controller programming. The right candidate will have significant industry experience in implementing complex Audio-Visual systems for large enterprises and experience supporting DoD/IC customers. The candidate will support multiple tasks designing, creating and maintaining conference room control systems.

This role supports multiple environments such as but not limited to Development, Test and Production. The candidate will work with an engineering team contributing to application development and operations achieving a state-of-the-art environment that meets current and future operational program goals.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in documenting and maintaining operations, network development, and maintenance processes and procedures
  • Participates in engineering and project reviews providing critical analysis comments
  • Supports AV programming, audio DSP design, communications, data, and control systems with existing and new AV control systems
  • Develops the user interface and AMX control system code for Tri-Level VTC systems
  • Performs installation, configuration, and maintenance for conference room controllers
  • Works some troubleshooting of hardware cabling and components related to interfaces controlled by touch panel programming
  • Maintains program version control and adhere to configuration management
  • Develops SQL scripts for database queries and changes
  • Designs and programs control interface touch panels for audio visual systems.
  • Certified with AMX and/or Crestron Control Systems.
  • Works to ensure a user-friendly operating environment for controlling audio/visual equipment.
  • Provides training to users to ensure proper use and care.
  • Primarily responsible for programming AV project control systems, to include the design, installation, and continuing support of graphic touch panel interface layouts based on customer requirements
  • Responsible for audio visual systems management Procedures, and current architectures.
  • Takes an active role in the design and installation of small to large-scale AV systems to include: video teleconferencing, sound systems, lighting, displays, and Command and Control operation centers.
  • Works with the engineering staff to develop and maintain network requirements, architectures, and designs.

Qualifications

Clearance Required: Top Secret

 

Degree and Years of Experience: BS with a minimum of 4 years related experience; may be substituted for equivalent education/experience, including 3 years of AV programming experience

 

Required Certifications:

  • Basic training in AMX Programmer I & II training courses

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of programming experience in an advanced language (JAVA, Visual Basic, C+, XML, NET and VB.NET)

  • 3 years of audio-visual technology experience

  • 3 years programming in AMX

  • Ability to program touch panels based upon given engineering designs, “build to”, and customer requirements documentation

  • Experience in GUI and general graphic design skills for conference room control systems using AV components such as BiAmp and Extron

  • Proven ability to maintain program version control and adhere to configuration management

  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware cabling and components in addition to touch panel programming

Desired Skills:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Electrical/Engineering technology

  • AMX Programmer III training course completion

  • Certification in AMX/CRESTRON® Programming

  • CTS Design certification

  • Experience with the generation of security certificates to include management systems

  • Experience with the control and management of passwords
