Abile Group, Inc. is looking for a high performing Lead Editor in Springfield, VA to aide in the process of selecting and preparing written, visual, audible, and recorded media used to convey information for an IC customer. The editing process involves corrections, condensation, organization, and other modifications performed with an intention of producing a correct, consistent, accurate and complete work.
The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.
Clearance Required: TS/SCI
Degree and Years of Experience: Requires an Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field and at least 5 years of related experience. Four (4) years of related experience may be substituted for a degree; 9+ years w/ High School Diploma or 5+ years w/Bachelor’s degree
Experience leading and providing oversight of all copy editing and transcription services.
Ability to edit selected and prepared written, visual, audible, and film media used to convey information. Experience working with videographers, graphic designers, and speechwriters.
Ability to support transcription services.
Demonstrated experience performing accurate grammatical, typographical, and compositional reviews and corrections within short timelines.
Well-versed using the AP Style Guide, the Chicago Style Guide, and current DoD writing standards (DoD Manual for Written Material: Correspondence Management).
Working knowledge of the complete transcription process and relevant software to aid in automated transcriptions.
