Overview

Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Software Engineering, Lead Associate supporting a DoD Customer's Classified Network Services. The mission will include Operations, Compliance, Cyber Security, Customer Service, and Engineering. The right Data Center Engineer (Storage) candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Mentors and leads junior and mid-level engineers to build proofs of concept for one-of-a-kind capabilities.
  • Performs peer testing and code review.
  • Troubleshoots and debugs issues.
  • Contributes to all levels of the architecture.
  • Maintains key system technical documentation.
  • Develops a familiarity with new tools and best practices.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and further implementation of best practices in software development, unit testing, agile scrum, and DevSecOps.
  • Collaborates with your team to author technical reports and demonstrate capabilities to both internal and external stakeholders.

This position is 100% onsite in Landover, MD.

Qualifications

Clearance Required: TS/SCI.

 

Degree and Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another technical field with 5 years of experience or Masters (MS/MA) in a related field with 3 years of experience.

 

Required Certifications:

  • Active Security+ Certification, or equivalent, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months from start date.

Desired Certifications:

  • Active Security+ Certification.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of C, C++, Java, or other C-style, cross-platform programming languages.
  • Experience developing software for and configuring Linux and/or Unix systems.
  • Demonstrated experience writing, testing, and debugging software.
  • Ability to develop and document system-level design options, including integration with commercial and government off-the-shelf (COTS/GOTS) systems and software.
  • Experience with version control, issue tracking, and documentation tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Adaptability and initiative to perform a wide variety of tasks to achieve program success.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Linux development experience at both user and kernel levels.
  • Experience modifying and compiling large open-source codebases.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools such as GitLab, SonarQube, Coverity, etc.
  • Experience with dnf package management using local repositories.

Salary Range: $75k - $144k

 

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by factors including, but not limited to geographic location, position requirements, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
